A quick and easy homemade detox drink combining apple cider vinegar, fresh lemon juice, honey, and water for a refreshing and healthy boost.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with ‘the mother’
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or maple syrup/agave for vegan option)
  • 1 cup filtered water (240 ml)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup sparkling water (120 ml)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • Optional: a pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Add 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of raw apple cider vinegar into a mixing glass or jar.
  2. Squeeze 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of fresh lemon juice into the same container.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon (21 g) of honey. Warm slightly if thick to ease stirring.
  4. Stir vigorously until honey dissolves completely.
  5. Pour in 1 cup (240 ml) of filtered water and stir again. Substitute half the water with sparkling water if desired.
  6. Optionally, grate 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger and add a pinch of cinnamon. Stir well.
  7. Add ice cubes if desired. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more honey or vinegar.
  8. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Use raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with ‘the mother’ for best health benefits. Warm honey slightly if thick to dissolve better. Fresh lemon juice is preferred over bottled for brightness. Adjust vinegar and honey to taste to avoid overpowering acidity. Store leftovers in a sealed jar in the refrigerator up to 48 hours and stir before serving. Avoid freezing. For a vegan option, substitute honey with maple syrup or agave. Adding fresh mint, cucumber, cayenne pepper, or turmeric can customize flavor and benefits.
