A rich and creamy milkshake blending the smoothness of chocolate with the bright tartness of cherries, perfect for a quick and satisfying sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) whole milk (can substitute with oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 2 cups (about 300 g) high-quality vanilla ice cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
  • 2 tablespoons cherry juice or syrup (optional)
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles (for garnish)
  • Maraschino cherry (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the cherries: If using fresh cherries, pit and rinse them. Frozen cherries can be used straight from the freezer. (About 5 minutes)
  2. Add base ingredients to the blender: Pour in whole milk, vanilla ice cream, cocoa powder, and sugar.
  3. Add cherries and cherry juice or syrup to the blender.
  4. Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high for about 45 seconds to 1 minute until smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or cherry syrup if desired, then blend again for 10 seconds.
  6. Serve immediately in a tall glass. Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and a maraschino cherry if desired.

Notes

Use fresh cherries for brightness or frozen cherries for a chilled thick shake. Adjust sugar to taste to avoid overpowering sweetness. Chill glasses before serving for best experience. If shake is too thick, add milk and pulse; if too thin, add more ice cream or frozen cherries.
