A cozy and comforting latte combining fresh strawberry puree, delicate rose syrup, and creamy milk, topped with beautiful latte art. Perfect for a sweet pick-me-up or impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons rose syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 shot (about 30 ml) espresso or strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk (or oat/almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Edible rose petals (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Strawberry Puree: In a small saucepan, combine chopped strawberries and sugar. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until strawberries break down and mixture thickens. Mash berries while cooking. Strain through a fine mesh sieve if a smooth puree is desired. Set aside to cool.
  2. Prepare the Espresso or Coffee: Brew one shot (about 30 ml) of espresso or strong brewed coffee. Pour into a latte cup.
  3. Warm and Froth the Milk: Warm milk in a small saucepan over low heat until hot but not boiling (around 140°F/60°C). Froth milk using a milk frother or whisk/shake vigorously in a jar until creamy and foamy.
  4. Combine Flavors: Stir rose syrup and vanilla extract into the cooled strawberry puree. Adjust sweetness and rose flavor to taste.
  5. Assemble the Latte: Spoon the strawberry rose mixture into the bottom of the cup. Pour espresso over it, then gently pour frothed milk on top, holding back foam with a spoon. Spoon foam over the top.
  6. Create Latte Art: Use a latte art pen, toothpick, or spoon to swirl the foam and strawberry-rose mixture into patterns.
  7. Optional Garnish: Top with whipped cream and sprinkle edible rose petals for elegance.

Notes

Use fresh, ripe strawberries for best flavor. Keep milk temperature around 140°F to avoid scalding. Adjust rose syrup carefully to avoid overpowering the strawberry flavor. If no frother, whisk or shake milk vigorously. Store leftover strawberry puree in fridge up to 3 days. Latte art improves with practice.
