A quick and easy recipe for crispy pretzels coated in smooth chocolate and topped with colorful sprinkles, perfect for a nostalgic and fun homemade treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oz (170 g) mini pretzel twists or rods
  • 8 oz (225 g) semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) colorful or festive sprinkles
  • Optional: sea salt flakes for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Place 8 oz (225 g) of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth and glossy. Alternatively, use a double boiler on low heat.
  3. Dip each pretzel in the melted chocolate using a fork or spoon, letting excess drip back into the bowl. For a lighter coating, place pretzels on the baking sheet and drizzle chocolate over them with a spoon.
  4. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle 1/4 cup (30 g) of colorful sprinkles generously over the pretzels.
  5. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Optionally, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to speed up setting.
  6. Once set, gently peel the pretzels off the parchment and arrange on a serving dish or pack into an airtight container.

Notes

Use gentle heat when melting chocolate to avoid burning. Work quickly when adding sprinkles to ensure they stick. Avoid overcrowding pretzels on the baking sheet for even setting. For a dairy-free version, use vegan chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
