A refreshing and simple detox water combining zesty lemon and spicy ginger for natural rejuvenation. Perfect for hydration, post-workout refreshment, or a calming self-care moment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium fresh lemons, thinly sliced
  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 quart (4 cups) filtered cold water or sparkling water
  • 12 teaspoons raw honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • A small handful fresh mint leaves, torn (optional)
  • Ice cubes as needed for serving

Instructions

  1. Wash lemons and ginger thoroughly under cold water.
  2. Slice lemons into thin rounds about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Peel ginger with a spoon or peeler and slice thinly.
  4. Place lemon and ginger slices into a large pitcher or glass jar.
  5. Add torn fresh mint leaves if using.
  6. Drizzle 1 to 2 teaspoons of raw honey or maple syrup over the ingredients and stir gently to dissolve (optional).
  7. Pour 1 quart (4 cups) of filtered cold water or sparkling water over the ingredients and stir gently.
  8. Cover the pitcher with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to infuse flavors. For stronger ginger flavor, steep up to 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Before serving, add ice cubes to glasses and pour the detox water over the ice.
  10. Garnish with extra lemon slices or mint if desired and enjoy.

Notes

Use organic lemons to avoid pesticide residue on the peel. Thinly slice lemon and ginger to avoid bitterness. Refrigerate during infusion to prevent off flavors. Remove ginger slices if flavor becomes too intense. Avoid metal containers to prevent reaction with acidic ingredients. Stir halfway through infusion for balanced flavor. Store leftover detox water in refrigerator up to 2 days.
