A quick and easy garlic butter lobster tails recipe perfect for an elegant dinner for two, featuring tender lobster meat broiled with a flavorful garlic butter glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lobster tails (about 68 ounces or 170225 grams each; fresh or thawed frozen lobster tails)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (finely chopped, for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your broiler: Set your oven rack about 6 inches from the heating element and preheat the broiler on high (about 5 minutes).
  2. Prepare lobster tails: Using kitchen scissors, carefully cut down the center of the top shell of each lobster tail, stopping just before the tail fin. Pry the shell open gently, and lift the lobster meat out, resting it on top of the shell.
  3. Make the garlic butter sauce: In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Brush lobster tails: Generously brush the garlic butter mixture all over the exposed lobster meat.
  5. Broil the lobster tails: Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet or broiler pan. Broil for about 8-10 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and slightly browned on top.
  6. Rest and garnish: Remove from the oven and let the lobster tails rest for 2 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Use softened butter for easy mixing and coating. Watch the broiler closely to avoid overcooking. An internal temperature of 135°F (57°C) ensures perfect doneness. Leftover garlic butter can be brushed halfway through broiling for extra moisture and flavor. For dairy-free, substitute butter with vegan butter or olive oil.
