A vibrant and easy-to-assemble charcuterie board featuring red, white, and blue ingredients, perfect for Independence Day gatherings and festive entertaining.

Ingredients

  • Sharp white cheddar cheese
  • Blue cheese crumbles
  • Fresh mozzarella balls
  • Thinly sliced salami or pepperoni
  • Prosciutto
  • Strawberries, halved
  • Blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Mini cucumbers or celery sticks
  • Assorted crackers (multigrain, water crackers, or favorite brand)
  • Baguette slices, toasted
  • Classic hummus (store-bought or homemade)
  • Red pepper jelly
  • Blue cheese dressing (optional)
  • Fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme
  • Mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, or favorite nut mix)
  • Olives (green or black)
  • Mini American flags or themed picks

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry all fresh produce thoroughly.
  2. Slice the strawberries, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Cut cheeses into cubes, wedges, or slices depending on their type.
  4. Fold or roll the sliced meats for easy grabbing.
  5. Toast baguette slices lightly if using.
  6. Place small bowls or ramekins on your board first for dips, nuts, and olives to anchor the layout and keep wet items contained.
  7. Group cheeses in different corners or sides of the board, mixing textures for visual and textural contrast.
  8. Place the folded or rolled meats near cheeses but avoid overlapping too much.
  9. Scatter strawberries and blueberries in clusters for patriotic color pop; add cherry tomatoes and cucumber sticks to fill gaps and add freshness.
  10. Place crackers and toasted baguette slices around edges or open spaces, keeping them accessible and not crushed.
  11. Sprinkle mixed nuts and olives in remaining spaces; add fresh herb sprigs for aroma and color.
  12. Stick mini flags or festive picks where they’ll stand out.
  13. Step back and check for color balance and variety; fill any gaps with extra nuts or fruit to make the board look full and inviting.

Notes

Serve cheese and meats at room temperature by removing them from the fridge 30 minutes before serving. Keep wet fruits and dips covered in the fridge if prepping ahead and assemble just before guests arrive. Use a sharp knife to avoid squashing delicate ingredients. For dairy-free options, substitute cheeses with marinated tofu cubes or vegan cheese alternatives. Frozen blueberries can be used if fresh berries are out of season.
