A quick and easy mimosa bar recipe featuring a homemade love potion syrup, fresh citrus juices, and sparkling wine, perfect for festive celebrations and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) Champagne or Sparkling Wine (brut or extra brut recommended)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) Fresh Orange Juice, preferably freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Love Potion Syrup (homemade with hibiscus tea, honey, and rose water)
  • 1 cup mixed fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries), washed and hulled
  • A handful of mint leaves for garnish
  • Thinly sliced lemon and lime slices for garnish
  • Optional mix-ins: pomegranate seeds, sliced kiwi, splash of elderflower liqueur

Instructions

  1. Make the Love Potion Syrup: In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup (240 ml) water to a gentle boil. Add 2 hibiscus tea bags and simmer for 5 minutes until water turns deep red. Remove tea bags and stir in ¼ cup (85 g) honey and 1 teaspoon rose water. Let cool completely.
  2. Prepare Fresh Juices: Squeeze about 6 large oranges to get 2 cups (480 ml) fresh orange juice. Strain to remove pulp if desired. Set aside in a chilled pitcher.
  3. Wash and Prep Fruit: Rinse berries and slice strawberries if large. Thinly slice lemons and limes for garnish. Arrange in bowls or trays for guests.
  4. Chill the Champagne: Place the champagne or sparkling wine bottle in an ice bucket or fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
  5. Set Up the Mimosa Bar: Arrange champagne flutes, pitcher of orange juice, love potion syrup, and bowls of fresh fruit on a decorated table. Include small spoons or tongs for fruit.
  6. Mix Your Mimosa: For each glass, pour 2 ounces (60 ml) orange juice, add 1 ounce (30 ml) love potion syrup, then top with 4 ounces (120 ml) champagne. Garnish with berries, a mint leaf, and a citrus slice.
  7. Troubleshooting Tip: If mimosa tastes flat or too sweet, adjust by adding less syrup or more sparkling wine. Pour sparkling wine slowly down the side of the glass to preserve bubbles.

Notes

Chill all ingredients before serving to keep bubbles lively. Pour sparkling wine slowly to preserve carbonation. Prepare syrup and juices ahead to save time. Use fresh-squeezed orange juice for best flavor. Store leftover syrup in airtight container in fridge up to one week.
