A refreshing and easy-to-make rose lemonade with sparkling water that combines fresh lemon juice, delicate rose water, and fizzy bubbles for a perfect summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large fresh lemons, juiced (about 1 cup or 240 ml lemon juice)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) rose water
  • 3/4 cup (150 grams) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) water (for simple syrup)
  • 4 cups (1 liter) sparkling water, chilled
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup water. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  2. Juice the lemons: Roll each lemon firmly on the counter, slice and juice them using a citrus juicer. Strain out seeds and avoid too much pith. You want about 1 cup fresh lemon juice.
  3. Combine lemon juice and simple syrup: In a large pitcher, stir together the cooled simple syrup and fresh lemon juice until fully mixed. Taste and adjust balance of sweet and tart.
  4. Add rose water carefully: Pour in 2 tablespoons rose water. Stir gently to combine and adjust to taste if a stronger floral note is desired.
  5. Chill the mixture: Refrigerate the pitcher for at least 30 minutes to meld flavors and chill. Alternatively, chill quickly with ice cubes (remove before serving).
  6. Add sparkling water before serving: Just before serving, add 4 cups chilled sparkling water to the pitcher. Stir gently to keep bubbles intact.
  7. Garnish and serve: Fill glasses with ice, pour rose lemonade, and garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Add rose water gradually to avoid overpowering floral taste. Stir sparkling water gently to keep fizz. Store leftover base (without sparkling water) refrigerated up to 3 days; add sparkling water before serving. For lower sugar, reduce sugar or use substitutes like stevia, adjusting rose water accordingly.
