A quick and easy homemade strawberry mojito cocktail that combines fresh strawberries, mint, lime, and rum for a refreshing summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons white granulated sugar
  • 2 oz (60 ml) white rum
  • 4 oz (120 ml) soda water
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: lime wedges and extra mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse and hull the strawberries, then slice them into halves or quarters depending on size. Pick fresh mint leaves from the stems and rinse gently. Juice your lime to get about 1 oz (30 ml) of fresh juice.
  2. Place sliced strawberries, mint leaves, and 2 teaspoons sugar in your glass. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press and twist to release the juices and mint oils without shredding the mint.
  3. Pour in fresh lime juice and 2 oz (60 ml) white rum. Stir gently to combine the flavors.
  4. Fill the glass with ice cubes, packing it nearly to the top.
  5. Pour about 4 oz (120 ml) soda water over the ice. Stir gently once or twice to mix while keeping bubbles intact.
  6. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a wedge of lime or strawberry on the rim. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not over-muddle the mint to avoid bitterness. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Chill the glass beforehand for a colder drink. Adjust sugar and lime juice to taste. For a non-alcoholic version, omit rum and add extra soda water or lemon-lime soda.
