A quick and easy 15-minute recipe for perfectly crispy air fryer salmon with a rich lemon garlic butter sauce. Ideal for busy weeknights, this dish delivers restaurant-quality results with minimal effort and simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon filets (about 6 ounces each, skin-on)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 whole lemon (zest and juice)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: fresh parsley or dill, extra lemon wedges, red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Pat the salmon completely dry with paper towels.
  3. Brush the flesh side with olive oil, then season with salt and pepper. Season the skin side with salt only.
  4. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, lemon zest (about 1 teaspoon), and a pinch of salt. Set aside (do not add lemon juice yet).
  5. Place the salmon skin-side down in the air fryer basket, ensuring filets are not touching. Cook for 6 minutes at 400°F.
  6. After 6 minutes, spoon half the butter mixture over each filet.
  7. Continue cooking for 3-5 more minutes, until salmon flakes easily and internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  8. Remove salmon immediately. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top, garnish with herbs and flaky sea salt if desired. Let rest 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat the salmon very dry for crispy skin. Add garlic butter halfway through to prevent burning. Let salmon rest 2 minutes before serving. For best results, use an instant-read thermometer and pull salmon at 140°F (carryover cooking will bring it to 145°F).
