These protein balls are a quick, easy, and delicious snack combining creamy peanut butter, dark chocolate, oats, and protein powder. Perfect for a healthy boost between meals or post-workout.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 cup natural smooth peanut butter (creamy, unsalted preferred)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla or chocolate protein powder (whey or plant-based)
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (60-70% cacao)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flaxseeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients and tools. Have everything measured and ready before you start. (5 minutes)
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup rolled oats, 1 cup peanut butter, and 1/2 cup protein powder. Stir until crumbly but starting to hold together. (5 minutes)
  3. Add 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of sea salt. Mix until the batter feels sticky and holds shape. (3 minutes)
  4. Fold in 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips gently to distribute evenly. (1 minute)
  5. Roll the mixture into 1-inch diameter balls using hands or a cookie scoop. Place on a lined baking sheet or plate. (5 minutes)
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up. (30 minutes)
  7. Store in an airtight container and enjoy immediately or later. (1 minute)

Notes

If mixture is too sticky, add a tablespoon of oats or protein powder. If too dry, add a splash of almond milk or more peanut butter. Chill for at least 30 minutes to help balls hold shape. Use natural, no-added-sugar peanut butter for best flavor. Fold chocolate chips gently to keep texture intact.
