Creamy, make-ahead overnight oats loaded with fiber from chia seeds and oats, bursting with sweet-tart berries. Perfect for hosting a crowd or a stress-free weekday breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (180g) rolled oats
  • 4 tablespoons (40g) chia seeds
  • 2 cups (480ml) milk of choice (whole, oat, or almond)
  • 1/2 cup (120g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 23 tablespoons (30-45ml) maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups (300g) mixed berries (frozen or fresh)
  • Optional toppings: fresh berries, toasted nuts or seeds, nut butter, coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl or jar, whisk together milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Add rolled oats, chia seeds, and a pinch of salt. Stir until evenly distributed.
  3. Gently fold in the mixed berries, being careful not to crush them too much.
  4. Cover the container with a tight-fitting lid or plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight (8-12 hours).
  5. In the morning, stir the oats well. If too thick, add a splash of milk to loosen.
  6. Spoon into bowls or jars. Top with fresh berries, nuts, seeds, or extra maple syrup as desired. Serve cold or at room temperature.

Notes

Use rolled oats, not quick-cooking or steel-cut. Frozen berries release more juice for a beautiful swirl. Stir halfway through chilling if possible. Oats taste even better on day 2. Store in fridge for up to 5 days; add milk if too thick.
