These shrimp skewers feature a sticky, sweet, and spicy sriracha honey glaze that caramelizes beautifully on the grill, delivering a perfect balance of bold flavors in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers (soaked if wooden)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water, then pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together sriracha, honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, lime juice, olive oil, and smoked paprika (if using). Set aside.
  3. Lightly season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
  4. Thread 4-5 shrimp per skewer, leaving space between each shrimp.
  5. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 200°C). Oil grates lightly.
  6. Place shrimp skewers on the grill and cook for about 2 minutes until shrimp start to turn pink and opaque.
  7. Brush shrimp generously with the sriracha honey glaze, flip, and brush the other side. Grill for another 2 minutes.
  8. Brush glaze on again, flip skewers, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until shrimp are opaque, slightly charred, and sticky with glaze.
  9. Remove skewers from grill and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat shrimp dry before seasoning to help glaze stick better. Brush glaze multiple times during grilling for layers of flavor. Avoid overcooking shrimp to prevent rubbery texture. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning. If glaze starts to burn, lower heat or move skewers to cooler part of grill.
