A smoky, sweet, and spicy cream cheese dip featuring jalapeños and honey, perfect for parties and easy to prepare in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (225 grams) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 medium jalapeño peppers, seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: thin slices of jalapeño, honey drizzle, chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes to soften.
  2. Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise, remove seeds if less heat is desired, then finely chop.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Blend with a hand mixer or spoon until smooth and uniform, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in chopped jalapeños and freshly squeezed lime juice.
  5. Drizzle honey over the mixture and fold gently but thoroughly.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, or honey as preferred. Add 1-2 teaspoons of milk or cream if the dip is too thick.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
  8. Before serving, garnish with thin jalapeño slices, a light honey drizzle, or chopped cilantro.

Notes

For a smoky flavor without a smoker, use smoked paprika. To reduce heat, remove jalapeño seeds. Chill at least 30 minutes for best flavor. Can substitute jalapeños with milder peppers or serrano for more heat. Use dairy-free cream cheese and agave syrup for vegan version.
